The Tenth Order is Almost Here!
So, a little over six years ago I decided to write a book. At the time I’d written plenty of short stories, essays, and even an ill-fated novella, but a full-length novel wasn’t in my wheelhouse. At least, that’s what I thought. After all, they were so long. There were so many pages to fill. But then I heard about NaNoWriMo, and decided what the hell, let’s give it a shot. Really, how hard could it be?
Hah. No.
Turns out it’s pretty damn tough.
But that’s okay, because I made it through. I’m here, six years later, and officially announcing the release date for my first novel, The Tenth Order. Hoo-boy. I had to go back and re-read that sentence a few times, because I never truly thought I’d get here. But enough rambling. Let’s get to the good stuff.
Ready?
Ready!
August 26th. That’s right, two(ish) weeks away. In twelve days you’ll get to meet Hunter Friskin, a guy I’ve spent the last six years getting to know. A guy who’s inexplicably hated. Reviled, Spit on by anyone who’s ever known him. But there’s more to Hunter than people suspect. At night he dreams of creatures with unbelievable powers. Creatures who can raise a city with their voice, transport thousands of miles with a thought and bend steel with a single fist. Creatures with wings.
And they want Hunter Friskin.
But enough of that for now. We have a whole twelve days to learn about Hunter and the mysterious beings who haunt his dreams. On Friday I’ll be releasing the official cover for The Tenth Order. I don’t want to over-sell it, but my computer exploded from sheer awesomeness the first time it appeared on my screen. So, fair warning—make sure you have a back-up monitor.
More will come as the date gets closer, including an official synopsis, a book giveaway and a dancing bear (I’ll have to get back to you on that last part). I’m too friggin excited to lay it all out now, but just stick with me. It’s going to get crazy.

Looking forward to reading the Tenth Order 🙂
Thanks, Clare. I hope you like it.
